Good Manners Classes for Dogs of All Ages

It’s never too early or too late to start reinforcing the habits you want your dog to have—for life. Just as we have learned ourselves that there is a time and place for everything, we need to teach our dogs how to exist within our prescribed realm of rules and etiquette. Our Good Manners classes focus on the inherent culture of your canine and how—with a little understanding, patience, and practice—we can overcome any intrinsic cultural barriers and learn to co-exist harmoniously.

In this course, you will develop the skills to teach your dog real-world manners including sit, down, stay, coming when called, greeting people politely, and walking nicely on leash. You will also learn teach your dog the rules of etiquette for canine conduct in your human environment, which would apply to behaviors like digging, biting and chewing, and eliminating (house training). Your dogs’ innate behaviors may often seem out of place in the human world, and you will learn to recognize the behaviors your dog was born to exhibit and when/where to allow your dog to be a dog!

This class is recommended for all dogs—young puppies and adult dogs. (And yes, you can teach an old dog new tricks!) It’s perfect for owners who want to establish a baseline of good behaviors or build on what their dog has already learned.

Humans Only Orientation

The first session in each of our group classes (except for Pooch Tutor Time) is just for owners. This “humans only” orientation is mandatory for all new students and is designed to give you a head start on your own education so that you can get the most out of your classroom time with your dog.

In this session you will learn important techniques that will prepare both you and your dog to feel less stress and more confidence—and ready for success when you enter the classroom together.
