Poncho The Dog

I never thought my mom would be a blogger, but all my dog friends and dog owners kept saying that my mom needed to take her love of dog training and put her tips and advice out to the world wide web to help more dog owners and pups! My name is Poncho, and as Joan's dog, I can vouch that her approach comes from personal passion and love of animals (me!!) – it is all about positive reinforcement and owner-education in reward-based training sessions.

The older one passed away a few years ago, but now I’d love to add another dog to my family. What is the best way to introduce a new [...]

Well folks it’s that time of year again when my dog trainer mom encourages yours truly to play dress-up. Yep, it’s Halloween! This means costumes – but it also means TREATS! And when it comes to being dressed as something like a skunk, it means CHICKEN! As much of a hippie as I am – [...]

It’s official folks! This inquisitive canine has teamed up with our local online news site Edhat-Santa Barbara with my very own dog behavior and training advice column. Similar to the one me and my mom co-write, Dear Inquisitive Canine, I’ll be doling out my own pooch’s perspective. As a matter of fact, that’s exactly what [...]
